Florida:
A whole month in Florida especially Orlando will not be long enough
to see everything, which poses the problem of what to leave out for
anyone with a mere two weeks or less to spend here.
It's like facing a buffet; do you try a bit of everything or pick a
few favourites and savour them? And then go back for more!
Orlando - the theme park capital of the world can be extremely
overbearing and the secret is to prioritize and plan ahead to avoid
being cheated by the constraints of time.
Note:
Take an umbrella! The sunshine state absorbs more lightning than any
other part of the USA and as the summer hots up, the humidity, heat and
sea breezes combine to create the perfect conditions for thunder storms.
Meteorologists advise people not to go out until a half-an-hour after
the lightning passes or when there's a storm approaching.
- Tipping is a way of life (see our Holiday
Help Desk guide).
- Theme parks are open every day of the year.
- $ travelers' cheques are the safest and most convenient way to
carry money.
- Topless bathing in public is illegal
- It is an offence for anyone under the age of 21 to buy alcohol
- Orlando as an informal place and nobody dresses-up for dinner
unless eating in a top notch restaurant.
- Do like the Americans do and pick up any free brochures and guides
for the money-saving coupons
